Why do I love Alice so much?

Good evening dear readers. Today, I would like to talk about Alice figure on "Alice through the looking glass". Well, in fact, I would like to comment on why I love that "saga" and especially why I love Alice so much (Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the looking glass).

Well, I think everybody knows that "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice through the looking glass" films were based on the books. I've only read "Alice in Wonderland" and I dare say it's too much different from the film. Anyway, the point is those books were written in the nineteen century by Lewis Carroll.

Reasons for loving Alice

1- The first reason is connected to the idea which she is the only important woman in the film who does something different from the other women for her life. She manages her life and isn't hidden behind a masculine figure. Those facts are important because of the age where books were written.

The nineteenth century is characterized by the first feminist movement in the US and in England in order to conquer rights to women. In that period of time, women were in the fight for their rights and in general, they could not get access to public life and a lot of activities for being considered as "masculine" activities. In this film, a masculine activity was the politic and all the things in relation to marine.

For those reasons, it is important to emphasize Alice represents that woman who decided to get free from a patriarchal system.

2- The second reason for loving her is because all the problems depended on Alice's actions. She is the heroin woman because she solved everything since she stole the cronosphere. There are no men behind her. She could do everything and that is an amazing thing to keep in mind from the 19th-century books.

3- The third reason and the most important one for telling you why I love Alice so much is because she inspires me to don't give up and overturn my dreams. That happens because in spite of being a woman in a patriarchal society, she did not give up because of stereotypes and she did everything to make her dreams real although they used to be "masculine activities", such as to be the captain of a ship.

I think she represents "The English new woman" that was born in the 19th century.

Additional information

To be honest, I love all the character from the films and that includes the Queens of Hearts. But, I love so much these two characters:

Mirana, The White Queen: because I like very much her gestures and her sweet style life, loving each creature.

The Cheshire Cat: I just love it because it's so cute and tender.

Other things I love from the two of both films is the soundtrack. This is one of my favourite songs from it.

In conclusion, Wonderland means a place where miracles or magic things happen. A place where everything is perfect and has a solution. If we analyse those facts from a context point of view, women rights were considered "impossible", but women managed to win them right along the story. So, we could think that the moral of these films and books is "nothing is impossible" and personally, I really like thinking about that.
